okay you remington experts what is the reason for the big price difference between the two? I know one has a enclosed magazine and the bdl doesn't but what else is different? As always thanks for the replies

  Same gun but a little fancier on the stock.

  The BDL has nicer wood ,engraving and either a floorplate or box magazine. The ADL has a plain stock and shells are loaded and unloaded through the top.

  They even have a cheaper ADL with the plastic stock and the "express" finish that seems to manufacture rust.

  The bolt and receiver metal on the BDL's are polished more for a smoother action, the barrel is polished/blue w/high gloss stocks, and the mag well can be unloaded via trap door. The ADL's are plain jane matte finnish on metal/wood/syn, and have to be unloaded via racking the bolt. However, the ADL's will have a tighter lockup because they are not polished (tighter tolerance)and seem to be better shooters.

  I'd sure recommend the BDL over the ADL, most people that I know bought an ADL to save money, but now are looking to convert them to a BDL (which is almost the cost of another one). I have several with the detachable magazine (the DM designation), and I wouldn't recommend it. They work flawlessly and such, but they are such a pain, they don't just "pop out" as easily as a pistol or like a .22 rifle. I like to be able to just drop a single round in after firing (when I THINK I killed the game I was hunting, but want to be fully loaded in case it hops up when I approach).
