Don't know if this is what you are looking for Paul, but a Paul KassnEr (note not Ar, so may be different scopes) was selling scopes under the Kassner name as early as 1970. All of the scopes he sold were made in Japan to his specs. He was listed in Gun Digest from 1977-1986. None of the scopes is today worth over $100 and most well below, so likely they were not of high quality, and certainly not by todays standards. It appears he sold rimfire scopes and scopes for hunting rifles. Hope this is of some use.

    Hi.
I don't know about a a AK-47, but I have one thats been on one of my .22 rifles, for 35 years, and is still going strong. I have one of the first ones that was made. The first ones, had the windage, and elevation, back-wards, that is, the wrong direction. It took a little getting use to.
    Hope this helps. K.J.S.

Thanks guys! Anybody else? I have absolutely ZERO knowledge on this item.......so all of it helps! I was just told about a 4 x 32, which sounds like something for an AR or an AK, etc., but haven't seen it.

Paul, this is not the same firm that imported your Hungarian AK. Your rifle was imported by Mike Kassnar while the scopes in question were marketed by Paul Kassner. The difference is in the "e" in the last name. The fact that both firms were located im Pennsylvania has not helped matters. Trust me when I tell you that you are not the first person to be confused by this and more than a few folks have paid a premium for one of these scopes for no good reason. While the scopes are of decent quality for their low price, they are not in any way related to the firm that imported your AK.

Thanks, Mark! Yes, this is sort of developing into something less than I was originally led to believe. Good to gain some knowledge, though, as long as it doesn't cost an awful lot! Hahahahahaha!!!
