Smith & Wesson Model A .30-06 value
My grandfather left me this rifle. I was just if somebody could give an idea of it's monetary value and if it might have potential of being a collector's item.
any more ideas would be helpful..

Made by Husqvarna, (1969-1972), This was the basic model. Also made were models B, C, D & E. $400 to $500 in excellent condition. 0 -
I can tell you the year it was made as well as which of 2 possible actions it has based on the serial number.
The model A was more than a basic model featuring a rosewood forend tip, white line spacers and skipline checkering and the only S&W model that used a standard weight and length (24") barrel. It is the equivalent of the Husqvarna Crown Grade. The other models were all variations of the Husqvarna "lightweight" with 20.75" barrels. The models D and E were both fullstock (mannlicher) models.0 -
I've got one in .243. I was offered $750 for it twice. Gave it to my grandson. Really a fine rifle.
