Webley and Scott ?

I am trying to identify the correct model of a Webley and Scott Pistol. None of my reference sources have it listed. The pistol is marked Webley & Scott ltd. London and Birmingham. 7.65mm & 32 automatic pistol. It has a 3 /12" barrel with the front sight on the
barrel. The rear sight is at the rear of the slide. It has a grip safety with checkered walnut grips and is very finely blued. The overall condition is excellent++ with a rating of 99%. Serial #109XXX. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

  Sir, I 'm having a problem with your description?
  W & S made pistols with and without grip safetys. In my reference material, the pistols shown with grip safetys are the larger frame models in 9mm Browning Long, .38 ACP and .455 Webley Automatic.
  None of the small frame .32's, identified as the Model 1906 and Model 1911 have grip safetys.
  If your pistol is a .32 ACP and has a grip safety it might have substantial value as a collectors item?

  The only Webley & Scott Auto in .32ACP that I see listed is the Metropolitan Police Automatic - .32 ACP or .380 ACP cal., 7 or 8 shot, 3 1/2 in. barrel, blue, fixed sights, composition grips. Mfg. 1906-1940. That's from the Blue Book.

  The Standard Catalog of Firearms calls it the Model 1908.

  I am having trouble with the ID as well. I was told it might be a model 1905 but can't find that model. I can email a photo if that will help. Tom

  The salient point is the grip safety! If your pistol is a original .32 ACP and has a grip safety it doesn't agree with any of my reference material. There is a very early model .32 with the safety set up as part of the hammer assembly, is their any chance that this is the model you have?

  The hammer is internal. The grip safety is similar in appearance to a 1911. I can send a photo if interested.

  P M me the photo, I would like to see it!
  The only thing that is even close to your description is the first model, vest pocket .25, that they made in the early 1900's in very small numbers. "W & S HAMMERLESS".
  As far as I know a .32 ACP in the same configuration is "UNKNOWN". Sounds like you have a winner there!
