My advice is that if ya want a little more range and accuracy, get something other than wolf...

For the most effecient accuracy with any weapon the only way to go is to handload. But wolf ammo is not accurate. The only thing it is, is cheap. As far as bullet choice, there are very many companies who make vary many bullets. My personal favorite is hornady do to the cost to quality value.

If you don't handload your should try American Eagle, PMC, Winchester USA, Federal, and many other QUALITY brand names.

As far as buying factory, my theory is to buy one box of everything, and see what your gun likes the best.

leeblackman has great advice, buy some of each type of ammo and see what your rifle likes... Often the "high-perfomance" loads don't fire whereas everyday off-the-shelf ammo will work great.
If you get into reloading you can reload your cases with a lot of different choices for that caliber.
The opposite of boat-tail is just a squared-back bullet. I don't know if they have a specific name for that or not. When looking for bulllets, they will usually have the BT in the listing (denoting boat-tail).
    Good luck!

It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...

If you do reload for your 7.62x39 try Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. You can buy factory seconds direct from the factory. The phone number is (800) 285-3701 Ext.1045.

Just about every major ammunition manufacturer makes 7.62x39mm ammo. Just check out your local shops that sell ammo, and search the web.

I have checked some ammo makers websites and i dont see anything. Anybody out there know if anyone makes this round in anything but a "standard" bullet. (nosler, boattail, ballistic tip ect)
    Thanks

Isn't it generally thought that you need to be very careful using reloads or even some US factory ammo in an SKS due to softer primers and the potential for slamfire???

The most important thing to remember about 7.62 x 39 is loaded with .308 diameter bullets by US makers and .311, I think it is, by the ex-commies. Using US made bullets in an SKS will have them rattling down the barrel with the resulting crappy accuracy. Seems to me that the Wolf brand is Russian.
