value of Sweet 16 A-5?

First, the mere mention of "Sweet 16" is worth a considerable premium in most places. That being stated...

As good as the condition sounds there is evidence of field use. Further, the gun is on the lower end as far as options. The vent rib is something that really hurts if it isn't included.

My guess is that there will be some evidence of wear along the underside of the barrel where it slides above the forstock. Again, nothing serious... But enough to be noticed.

My thought is that your gun most probably falls into the upper end of the "shooter" category. Perhaps it might be nice enough for collector interest but it will be on the low end for that purpose.

Value is most likely to fall into the $550.00 to $650.00 range. I base that on the fact that a somewhat more used gun can be easily had for $450.00. One with less use and options will easily top $1,000.00 hereabouts.

One more point... Value is highly regional. There are areas that skew values due to local hunting laws and traditions.

Nord, thanks. I have an A5 thats real nice allready....with the "nickel" wear marks on barrel....I never noticed any on his. His gun is almost excellent except for the slight pitting on the reciever........From 5 feet away it looks like it came out of the box on Monday.............thanks again.......Anyone else?????
