According to the website at Yahoo that 00scoots told you about there were 22,423 of them made, no serial since it was made before '68, and an unknown # were made with 24" bbls. Since it was made before '68 the code is pretty easy to figure.

Jan = B 1959 = F
Feb = L 1960 = G
Mar = A 1961 = H
Apr = C 1962 = J
May = K 1963 = K
Jun = P 1964 = L
Jul = O 1965 = M
Aug = W 1966 = N
Sep = D 1967 = P
Oct = E 1968 = R
Nov = R 1969 = S
Dec = X

  According to Remington. the Nylon 11 was only made from 1962 until 1964. That doesn't mean it's true! The Nylon 66 was made from 1959-1988. The 11 was a bolt, the 66 was an auto, both were great guns! They also had a Nylon 12 and a Nylon 76, the 12 was a tube-fed gun, with the 11 being clip-fed. The 76 was a lever action. All I can remember!!!! I also believe that they had a single-shot Nylon model, but can't remember what it was called. I got the info when I wrote Rem. about my long-lost 66.

  The single shot was the model 10 and most were rifled bores... They made a few in smoothbore, with " .22 cal. smoothbore" stamped in the barrel at the junction with the receiver... According to Remington shipping records...8606 Mohawk Brown rifled models were shipped from 1962-1965.. 2064 Mohawk Brown "Smoothbore" model 10s were shipped from 1963-1965.As matwor stated the number of long barreled (24" vice 19") rifles produced is at this time unknown...I believe only bolt action models..10,11,& 12 were produced with the long barrel...
