Spencer/Bannerman 1898 Pump
Recently I inherited a Spencer/Bannerman 1898 pump-action shotgun. It appears to be 12-Gauge, with the ejector ramp on the top of the receiver. The buttstock is broken at the wrist, and there are several screws missing. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement buttstock for it? Also, were I to get it checked out by a gunsmith, would it use black-powder only shells?
The ID on it is: "Spencer Rptg. Shot Gun Pat. Apl. 1882" on the top of the barrel near the receiver. The left side of the receiver says "F. Bannerman. MNFR. New York.U.S.A." and under that is "Model 1890" My serial# is 10343. It is a pump action, with a cocking trigger as well as the firing trigger. The barrel appears to be some sort of fake damascus steel.
