bought new gun
What is the best way to work in a new gun. What i mean is how often do you clean your gun in between fired. is it good to use a brush on a new gun. I know you got to clean your gun after so many shots but i don't know how often you clean a new gun after you shot it.

I sometimes shoot hundreds of rounds at the range.
Guns get cleaned when I get home, or soon after.
I always use a brush.
Never heard that it would hurt them.
Then again, maybe I am wrong??

Many people rave about the need to properly "break in" their barrels. Depending on the quality of the gun, the type, and especially the ammunition, just shoot some, then clean it at the range. My (this is just MY preference) break-in procedure is to shoot a few and clean the bore, shoot a few more, and clean again. If it is a pistol or semi-auto rifle, the tendancy is to just open it up and let it fly the first time out of the box. I like to shoot just a few at a time (keeping the barrel cool) and clean often. I don't know if this really matters, but all of my firearms have blessed me with years of service. It can't hurt and it is better to preserve than have to replace!

i agree with everyone else i clean mine and lube it real good after every time it has been out and shot now if i just had it out and no shooting then i just give it a quick over to make sure it is lubed up good [:D][:D][:D] 0 -
