Safe query
Anyone have any good or bad feedback on Cannon Safes? Also anybody have an electronic lock on their safe (any kind) that they've had problems with?

I have a fireproof cannon. I would stay clear of the electronic locks and go with a standard( with a key in the center) The combo will read Left... then right 3 turns to.... then left two turns to... then back right till it gets over a cam and opens.. Pretty nice setup. I purchased mine at a dealer in KY. and picked it up. 0 -
I just purchased a Libeerty safe and was inquiring about the locks. Here's what I was told, the electronic lock was easier to use and rated higher in protection than the combo key lock. The S&G elect. lock was a class2 and the combo a class1. Talk to your local locksmith on that one as I have no idea what this means, but the guy at the safe store was VERY helpful and this is the second safe I have from him, the other safe I have has the combo/key lock and like everyone else, I get lazy and just use the key function instead of putting the combo in every time, BAD MOVE, doing that the combo lock can be defeated by a pipe wrench in about 5 seconds, breaking the tumbler on the little key lock. I just got the electric lock on my big safe and feel much better about the security of this one and I am able to change the combo in less than 2 minutes myself. hope this helps. Marc 0 -
Got a cannon 12 gun, with combo lock, for 10+ years.
After about 6 months the combo locked up, could not open it.
Called cannon in about 3 days a locksmith came out & replaced the combo @ no charge.
The fit & finnish I would say is about a 85% compared to a browning.
I think I paid $500 for it.
I would buy another cannon safe.

I JUST BOUGHT A BIG CANNON TRADITIONAL SERIES A FEW WEEKS AGO,,COULDN`T BE HAPPIER. AS FOR THE ELECTRONIC LOCK,,IT TAKES ABOUT TWO SECONDS FOR ME TO OPEN MY ELECTRONIC LOCK,I TRIED MECHANICAL LOCKS IN A FEW DEALERS AND IT WAS ALOT MORE TIME CONSUMING. I`M IN AND OUT OF IT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY SO I`M GLAD I WENT WITH THE ELECTRONIC LOCK. I HAVE ABOUT 10 OR 12 BROUCHERS ON ALL DIFFERENT SAFES AND THE CANNON SEEMED BEST TO ME.PLUS THEIR LIFETIME WARRANTY INCLUDES SHIPPING AND PICK UP,NOBODY ELSE DOES. JUST MY OPINION,I JUST WENT THROUGH THIS DECISION A FEW WEEKS AGO. GOOD LUCK,
