T/C Black Diamond questions

Allen, I put one on my Black Diamond along with a sort of cover on the scope to keep the blowback from damaging the scope finish. Couldn't get the 209 primer in with my fingers anyway, and found the narrow gap between the scope and action pretty narrow and hard to work in for removing breach plug etc. Took the scope off, and now I can get to the action with no problems. Wanna buy a set of rings?[:o)]

Thanks for the info, He Dog. I'll keep you in mind for the rings. I need to get an in line with the scope. I know the Black Diamond is a good rifle. It is about the only in line with a plain wooden stock. I am also looking at the Omega.

Allen, mine is a synthetic stock, which I don't think makes a difference in this topic. I am a resonably dexterous sort and I find using the capper to put the primer in place works best even without the scope. With scope on it is tight, but doable. It is a good rifle for the price, but forget the hype about "magnum." When you get above 100 dram equivlent accuracy suffers and at the full 150 dram load it recoils like a center fire.

Is it pretty easy to clean the Black Diamond?

Yes it is. Because the breech plug screws out it is really easy to do a great job of getting it cleaned up.

Does it use a one piece scope base? Would the base get in the way, or make it tight to clean, if you used removable rings?

Can anyone tell us if there is a significant difference between the Black Diamond and the Omega 50? [?]

I am a lefty ... would that make the Omega a better choice for me? [?]

Sorry Andersk, I do not know the Omega 50 at all.

Allen, The bases I use are separate, so removeable rings might be a good alternative. It will work with the scope on, but I just found it uncomfortably tight. Should have thought of removable rings myself!
