Best self-defense .25 ammo

The posting says it all - what do you all think is the best self-defense .25 cartridge out there? I have a Colt 1908, and I really am fond of it; very convenient for me. I know a lot of people say no to the .25, and I'd be better off throwing it at the bad guy, but I'd like your input.

Currently, I have been using FMJ Winchester, not the silvertips. These have given me no problems at all, but are not known for self defense.

  Unfortunately, a lot of the older autos won't reliably feed most JHP's. Silvertips usually deliver good performance in 25 ACP. Magsafe ammo would be another good choice.

  What about the "MagSafe Ammo" in .25 cal that cost about $3.00 a bullet?
  Package reads "1610 fpc, stopping power of a .38, etc. Are they worth the big bucks and/or safe in a small .25?

  I use the Glaser Blue ammo in my Taurus. It has a round platic nose, like ball ammo and feeds fine. It's not as expensive as Magsafe. Remember a 25. in the pocket is better than a Magnum left at home.

  A lot of people scoff at the 25 ACP, I sure wouldn't want to get shot with it. Much better than not carrying. My 2 cents

  Amen to that. Anything that hits harder than you do helps when the chips are down.

  Hell i wouldnt want to be shot with a pellet gun much less a .25.

  I've loaded a lot of bodies hit with .25's and given first aid to many more. Yup, I've seen the failures and the successes with the .25 ACP. I don't and won't own one, but if that is what you got just remember to KEEP SHOOTIN. .25 ACP is one of the few guns that could use more capacity.

  Well I don't want to rain on your parade, but I think the .25 is next to USELESS! Granted it better then NOTHING but that's about it. IF this is a self defence weapon do you really want to bet your life on a .25 caliber bullet? ...or say a .380/9mm/.357!!? You may be in love with the weapon, but PLEASE leave it in the "plinking" catagory. My 2 cents. ...Mark

  I've read, several times, that there have been more people shot with a 25 cal. than any other cal. So, a lot of people are using them.

  Two police officers I know were shot with .25's. Both survived, one returned to limited duty and the other was forced to retire on disablilty.
  
  As has been said before, better than nothing....but still in my opinion not much...
