OF MOSSBERG & SONS MODEL 142-A .22 LONG RIFLE

A friend of mine picked up one of these at an estate sale and has offered it to me for $150.00
This gun is in 95% condition and has a Mossberg NO.M4D 4X scpoe on it.
The front of the stock folds down and makes a handle to steady your shot with. It also has a odd looking torpedo style knob on the end of the bolt.

Does anyone know how much this gun is worth ?? Or when it was made ??
I can't seem to find it in any of my books.

Any info will be helpful.

  Shane, I do believe that LTS is a Mossberg 22 nut and has some knowledge of these. You know where to find him.

  Shane,
  Sounds like a model 152 to me with the fold down handle.
  Does it have a peep sight? I think there is one on GB now. Might also do a check on e-bay for scope value. 150.00 might be a little high but they are good shooters.

  34.5" OAL / 6.03 lbs empty / 4-groove rifling, RH cocentric
  detachable box magazine / 7 rd capacity / 1080 FPS w/ 40 gr bullet
  18" tapered BBL / walnut monte carlo style pistol grip stock
  forearm hinges down to act as a hand grip
  some BBL`s marked 142A
  models with the "T-BOLT" handle made prior to 1954, ball style post 1954 to end of production
  
  value in NRA VERY GOOD condition is about $150.00, add 10 percent if its a correct, period, MOSSBERG scope.best regards, mike.
