Postban - Preban question?

If I put a post ban upper on my preban AR-15, can I change it back to the preban upper without breaking the law? I know they would never catch me, but I just wonder.

Measure twice, cut once.

Empty the clip!

  Yep, as long as the lower's a preban you can use either. Just not the other way around.
