Need help with 1890 Winchester

I'm trying to remove the front magazine band from the magazine tube. The rear one had a pin that I drifted out and it came off easily. I don't see a pin on the front one. The spring that keeps the inner tube from falling out is under the front band and I can't seem to get it off. Anyone have experience with this procedure? Thanks.

  The instructions for removing the magazine are simply:
  
  Drive out magazine ring pin(near front of action slide handle)from the rightand pull out magazine forward.
  
  Reassembling:
  
  Holding magazine friction spring in place in it's slot in outer magazine with small end toward rear and curved slide inward, push magazine rearward through magazine rings and action slide ao that wide portion of friction spring enters front magazine ring next to barrel.
  
  See that rear end of magazine is seated in reciever and drive magazine ring pin in from left of mag azine ring.
