Feedback on the Springfield Armory XD series??

  I had the opportunity to shoot one the other day. I would say they definately out-Glock'd Glock. I'm not a big fan of Glock's designs, and the XD shares many elements, but aside from a too-narrow grip and somewhat long trigger pull, I found it remarkably easy to shoot accurately. After my first shot (not used to trigger pull) I shot a quick 1 1/2" group with range reloads at 25'. For me that's pretty good, and I thought it said a lot for the ease of use of the XD.
  
  Personally I still go with HK or Browning (or Wilson if you have the money), but based on shooting comparable .40s, I'd definately take the XD over the Glock.

  The HS2000 is virtually the same gun, and can probably be found for much less money.

  THESE GUNS ARE TESTED IN THE NEW GUNSANDAMMO MAGAZINE AND WERE RATED QUITE HIGHLY.

  I didn't care much for them when they were HS2000 and like them even less now that Springfield stamped their name on them and raised the price a couple hundred bucks!
  
  Without the NRA, the second ammendment would already be gone!

  I have an XD40 in the V10 iteration and it shoots like a dream. The ported barrel makes a "double tap" a snap!
  
  That being said I have been carrying mine on a daily basis in a Fobus rotopaddle and the finish sucks, It shows edge wear from the holster and the rear end of the slide shows edge wear from my jacket!!
  
  Oh well it may be shiny but I will bet my life on it.

  I bought the 9mm and liked it so much I went out and found one in 40 to match. I have carried either one or the other everday since Springfield introduced them and I love it. You are not going to win a bullseye match but at 25 yard both the 9 and 40 groups are under 4 inches. If you are looking for a great personal protection weapon you cannot go wrong with and XD, light,powerful and reliable.
