Finn M-39 value? Need quick answer
I confess, I don't know much about Mosins compared to Mausers. I know even less about Finnish guns. I haven't got an FFL or C&R. That said, I have a chance to get an M39 in 99% condition, all matching, 1898 Tula reciever, mirror sharp bore, VKT stamped gun delivered to my door, no paperwork as it is an antique, for $170. I have been told this is on the high side of fair but still in the ballpark. The gun is on hold for me pending my calling them tomarrow and completing the transaction. What do you all think? I posted this in a few other boards as well to get faster response.

Wholesale guns and ammo is the place that has the gun in question. I might go for one of the excellant modern guns, even with transfer it would be less than the gun I was looking at, thanks. Still would like more input though.

Not being considered a rifle, because of the age would make the rifle worth $50 more to me. On top of a rifle worth 140 or so it sounds fair to me.

I decided to get it. Finn Nagants are one of the more collectible and even if it is a little high now, with an antique reciever and the market climbing slowly but surely on these, I can't go wrong in the long run.
