Presently, there are several surplus type rounds available. The Danish is supposed to be ok but is berdan primed and some posters mentioned occasional neck splits. The Korean is reported made by PMC and very good shooting. There is stil some corrosive 06 ammo floating around and it should be avoided. PMC and S&B make decent ammo and all the US makers produce generic fmj at reasonable prices.

The term "M2 ball" describes the milspec ammo purchased by the US military for standard use in the M1 rifle; it can be used equally well in the M1903/M1903A3. "USGI M2 ball" was made in US arsenals, and is primo quality, non-corrosive & reloadable; you can order it in cans from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Other manufacturers make their own versions of M2 ball, and you can buy it with the caveats noted by Mobuck; most of it will be cheaper.

You get what you pay for, sometimes less.

Unfortunately CMP is all out of non-corrosive. If you are shooting a Garand, I'd shop around for the non-corrosive from other sources. If you are shooting a Bolt Gun, I'd go for the GI Corrosive, and clean propperly. I use Corrosive Milsrp in my own bolt guns, but I do not wish to foul up the gas system on my Garand.
    Have fun, be careful!
