AR15 vs M16
Ok I might be confessing some ignorance here but...
Are parts sold as "M16" parts built to heavier duty specs and tols than regular AR15 parts? I don't want to turn my AR into a full auto but was wondering if an m16 bolt and spring were a little stonger tuffer?
If force ain't work'n... Your not use'n nough of it

No, Very few parts difference. The bolt on the m16 has a deeper notch cut in it to trip the autosear automatic when the trigger is pulled. The trigger, autosear and a couple of other minor parts are the only difference. Also you have to drill a hole in the receiver for the new sear. Don't try this as it is illegal and drilling a hole in your receiver will make it worthless. 0 -
Putting any M16 component in a AR15 makes it a machine gun according to BATF regs.
