Korean Knife

I have an old knife my father had. I believe he picked it up in Korea during the war. I don't believe the sheath is original to the knife, though it is in one. It is 10 1/2 over all with a six 1/4 in. blade. The interesting part is that it has a bone handle, I think, though it may be ivory, that is carved. The carving is of a figure, mostly head, in what appears to be a landscape, though the figure is next to a hut I believe. The carving runs around the entire handle. There are three rather large cracks in the handle; one running nearly the entire length and the other two about two thirds. If there was an end piece on the handle, and I assume there was at one time, it is missing.
My question is,; can anyone date this knife and offer a value if I e-mail pictures to them?

  Robert I may be able to help,maybe not. Is there a tang stamp? this would be on the tang near the handle. Is it cold stamped in or hot stamped? Is the knife carbon steel (dull dark color) or stainless steel (brite in color)? How thick is the knife stock at the thickest point most likely across the back? you can send a picture to my profile address if you like.just click on my nick name it will take you there.
