1893 mauser bolt question
Ok I think I messed up I was changing the parts on a 1893 mauser bolt to another one and when I put new bolt into rifle and locked into place it didn't feel right so I pulled bolt back out. Now heres my problem I took the guts out again to see if they were ok and when I screwed it back in I forgot to put the saftey in up possition. so now I can't unscrew it and it is not in right possition to go into rifle.
HELP what do I do to get it back apart.

Hook the sear (the square edged piece that contacts the trigger) lump on a counter edge, pull the body down and put the safety into the middle position.
Hint: your not the first one thats done this.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
No problemo! Grab the bolt body in both hands and hook the sharp cocking lug on the bottom over the edge of your workbench or some other sharp, squared off corner. Now pull the bolt downward away from the bench. The cocking piece will stay hooked on the bench edge and you can reach up with one hand and turn the safety wing to the up position. Actually, I use the edge of my bench vise for this operation; steel against steel works better--you may tear through a wooden edge. 0 -
alrighty I will try it and get back to you
