help me make up my mind
I have pretty much decided on my new deer rifle in 280 rem. But I can't make up my mind to go with the remington or the ruger in this caliber. I have one of both (in different calibers), like how both shoot but am leaning toward the ruger because of price. What do you folks think? As always thanks for the replies.

My vote for the two you selected is Ruger. They work first time every time. No guess work with a Ruger. My 2 cents

I am also thinking of buying a 280 in the near future.To me,There is nothing that will come close to a Remington mdl. 700.If i can't find a 280 in a 700,i won't be buying one. 0 -
I'd take nothing but a ruger in stainless and synthetic. 0 -
Remington 700, I'm with Old Single Shots.
I'm a man,....but I can change,.....If I have to,......I guess.0 -
Remington!
You're a statistic whether you want to be or not.0 -
if you can find one a older Ruger 77R tang safty, reload Hornaday 154 gr spire point, 54.5 gr of IMR4350 0 -
Remington. A lot of help you are getting eh? I think Rugers are fine rifles with crummy triggers, and it will cost you just south of $100 to replace with a good one. Remington 700's are what a large number of custom rifles are built on. 0 -
You get what u pay for. I have had both. Only Rem in my safe now. Time tested and proven. 0 -
When I bought my Remington, the dealer gave me a box of japanese wrenches and a Ruger to work on.. JUST KIDDING RUGER FANS
Myself,I never had a Ruger that shot well enough for me without having to do something with it. I would take a Rem. over a ruger, but a Tikka over a rem.0
