My vote for the two you selected is Ruger. They work first time every time. No guess work with a Ruger. My 2 cents

I am also thinking of buying a 280 in the near future. To me,There is nothing that will come close to a Remington mdl. 700.If i can't find a 280 in a 700,i won't be buying one.

I'd take nothing but a ruger in stainless and synthetic.

    Remington!

You're a statistic whether you want to be or not.

Remington. A lot of help you are getting eh? I think Rugers are fine rifles with crummy triggers, and it will cost you just south of $100 to replace with a good one. Remington 700's are what a large number of custom rifles are built on.

When I bought my Remington, the dealer gave me a box of japanese wrenches and a Ruger to work on.. JUST KIDDING RUGER FANS
Myself,I never had a Ruger that shot well enough for me without having to do something with it. I would take a Rem. over a ruger, but a Tikka over a rem.
