Cleaning Tarnished S&W stainless revolver?
My wife bought me my Valentines day present a little early today. A new smith 610 revolver. The only catch is that it has been sitting in a display case for many years. The revolver is tarnished lightly in places where it has been handled over the years. What can I do to it to clean it up? Thanks in advance,

Try a little Blue Wonder Cleaner.

Rich... Since stainless guns are basically bare metal, without a "finish" as with a blue steel gun, you can use metal polish on it to clean it up.
semi-chrome, brasso or any paste type polish and a clean cloth should help. For tough tarnish spots you can use a polishing wheel on a motor.0 -

Be careful with the polishes unless you want to polish it all to a gloss. Hard to polish and still maintain an even matte finish.

Hot water, "soft Scrub", and a toothbrush. Make sure its dry and lightly oiled when finished. 0 -
I'v had good luck getting out really minor scratches with tooth paste (honest!).

I use navel jelly, but keep it off of any blued parts because it will take the blue off.
Measure twice, cut once.
Empty the clip!0 -
