Try a little Blue Wonder Cleaner.

Rich... Since stainless guns are basically bare metal, without a "finish" as with a blue steel gun, you can use metal polish on it to clean it up.
semi-chrome, brasso or any paste type polish and a clean cloth should help. For tough tarnish spots you can use a polishing wheel on a motor.

Be careful with the polishes unless you want to polish it all to a gloss. Hard to polish and still maintain an even matte finish.

Try an ordinary eraser from a pencil. John

Hot water, "soft Scrub", and a toothbrush. Make sure its dry and lightly oiled when finished.

I'v had good luck getting out really minor scratches with tooth paste (honest!).

"Honest Honey! This isn't a new rifle! It was just in the back of the safe..."

I use navel jelly, but keep it off of any blued parts because it will take the blue off.

    Measure twice, cut once.
