20ga slugs for Boar
Friends and I are going boar hunting and I thought I might try it with a 20ga O/U - can I get away with shooting slugs out of a Modified and Improved cylinder?????? I have other rifles/handguns, but just wanted to try something different.....

try using jacketed slugs & you should't have any problems

Mu butcher has one heck of a boar on the wall from a 20 ga slug.

before screw in choke tubes came along people shot slugs thru any field gun they had usually with full or mod chokes and they worked just fine , I had a old 20 ga. pump that was full choked and it was one heck of a slug shooter.
you may want to check around some of your local stores , my local Gander Mountain has Brenneke brand slugs on sell for less than 2 bucks for box of 5 in 12's 16's and 20's0 -
Thanks Guys - Yeah they had 3 boxes left at one of the local shops (@ $3.00 per 5). I was in a delima, My Cousin, Brother-in-law, and 2 other guys are coming down from Canada and can't bring down any firearms - so I get to supply the goods. I thought we could all take my rifles but My o/u is a little lighter and we are only going to be in close range conditions. I also wanted to trade one of the rifles for a SA .357 For my packin pistol. Them boys is just gonna have to take what I give-em anyway. Thanks again!
