I have an old double barrel shot made by Continental Arms Corp. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

Yes its loaded.

  A trade name only. Look under the barrel(s) for proof marks. If none, then domestic... Hopkins & Allen, Crescent, Stevens, or the like. If ELG, then Belgian.
  
  Regardless, it's no great shakes on the market unless a .410 double in 90%+ condition.

  my references list the manufacturer of continential arms as unknown but does list the retailer, who was marshall-wells co. of deluth minnesota.

  there is a "G" with an * above it, P.V with a symbol above it, a oval with a crown on top with the letters ELG and a star in it, an oval with 20-70 in it, and a 1 3 Y. So I guess its a Belgian. Thanks for the info, any more on the the history of the gun would be much appreciated, since this was my great grandfathers gun and he was an imigrant of Italy.

  You've basically answered your own question....Belguim made, Sold thru Mail Order Houses and Hardware Store..Late 1880's thru c. 1935..It was Common for Belguim makers to Use a Known Name in the gun Business and copy it with just enough differance in Spelling or Address to keep from any Patent Infringement and face a Law Suit and banishment from Exporting to the country in Question...These guns sold Typically in the $12.00 to $25.00 Range...The More Engraving and or better Wood and Checkered, the More it cost....No great collector value for average or less...! If in Excellent Condition...Maybe $200.00 to $250.00...on todays market.........Best.....

  One more note... Those are black powder proofs. Anything more powerful than that (ANY NITRO LOAD) is dangerous for the gun and could be dangerous to you.
  
  The best place for the old gun is in a cabinet enjoying a well deserved retirement.

  No offense ment to anyone, but I interpret the proof marks differently. From the data in my book, your shotgun is a 20 gauge, "OVAL WITH 20-70 IN IT" and proofed for smokeless powder, "P.V WITH SYMBOL ABOVE IT" the symbol is a stylized lion.
  Just my 2 cents.
