IMI Desert Eagle

I'm still looking for a moderately priced 9mm auto. I ran across an IMI Desert Eagle Jericho Model 941 FB that is reasonbly priced new from a dealer. Does anyone have any experience with this pistol? I can't seem to find anything on the Internet about them. What sort of reputation do these guns have?

  Seem to remember those as being a CZ clone with a different slide. The magazines interchange with another line of pistole (the Witness, I think)

  Does that one have a polymer frame?
  
  If not I believe it's the same as the Desert Eagle Baby Eagle series. I know a couple guys that own these. One of which had his barrel ramp polished to improve feeding past that both of these guys really like them.
  
  I was looking at getting a Baby Eagle for the fact that it lefty friendly and has an ambi-safety. But the sticker price shock of a new one kept me away. It was in $600ish range.

  Jericho Model 941 was sold as a combo pistol. It came with both 9mm & .41 action express barrels.
  If you can get it "MODERATELY PRICED" with both barrels it's a good deal.
  Best be careful, that it isn't just being sold with the .41 action express barrel only. The .41 AE round is DOA, the ammo is hard to get! You'll be stuck high and dry with something you can't afford to shoot and nobody would want to buy off you.
  Just my 2 cents.

  I own a poly Baby Eagle 9mm. I really like it, its light, easy to shoot, and east to dissasemble. I only paid $410 for mine new.

  If it is the IMI..built in israel it is good. They even have a few
  UZI baby eagles, floating around in circulation. Same gun, it is good.

  Thank you. This is a 9mm only with no combo barrel. It is in the box with one extra magazine. It is polymer under steel. I am unfamiliar with the Baby Eagle but I believe this Jericho is smaller, lighter. I do a lot of carry. Making the transition from a single action 4" revolver to an auto. I want a gun heavy enough that it feels good in the hand but not so heavy that it's uncomfortable holstered by the right kidney in a pickup truck or on horse back. Looking strongly as a P series Ruger but I don't care for the trigger on it. Everybody says double action is the way to go but I've used a friend's Browning High Power and really like it's trigger and handling characteristics... but the price is pretty stiff. I have to drive a ways to examine this Desert Eagle Jericho but the dealer is good and will work with me. He also has a P-85 as well.

  Randy, That price is way to high for a baby eagle. Should be around $400. My wife and neighbor have been shooting IDPA with theres for three years. I shot my best IPSIC score with my wife's eagle, And I am a dyed in the wool comander man.
  
  The baby eagle is hard to beat by any 9mm out there.

  I had one of those. Good, reliable gun. Easy to maintain and pretty fun to shoot. The only reason I sold it is because I prefer shooting 45s to 9mm.
