Model 100 RECALL

Can anyone tell me if Winchester still active with Model 100 recall...and what it entails. Second part/is the 308 or 284 a better rifle in this model?

  At last I knew yes they were still active with the recall. You can either send it in to them or take it to a service center.Just call them and they will give you the scoop. I like the .308 caliber better.

  They are both good calibers,but the .284 is worth quite a bit more.To find out about the firing pin recall call 1-800-852-5734 between 1 & 4:00PM.They will ask you the serial number and tell you if it's been changed.

  Winchester warranty repair stations will still perform the firing pin recall work on the Model 100. The firing pin that is square in cross-section is the old style.

  I just replaced one in the shop.
  Yes,I called,gave them the serial#
  they send a new pin,and a check for
  $20.to the shop.
