i came across an old English rifle. i assume it is an old enfield. the stock is short like the jungle carbines but the muzzle does not flair out like most that i have seen. i don't know any of the markings as i did not get the gun. so i appologize in advance for not knowing much. it had a number that looked like 1842 but i guess it could have been the date 1942. it looked older than WWII to me. the butt plate is brass. any info would be great. the price on it is $100. is it worth it?

  can you tell me anything about it? is it one of those carbines or is it something else?
