Springfield XD40 question...

I just bought the new XD40 and love it. It is a sweet shooter. I am wondering what type of mags it uses. I want to know if I can get high cap. mags for it. Any help would be great.

    not sure if there are any hi-cap mags for this yet..i found extra mags on the gunbroker site in gun parts,but i got rid of my xd40 in favor of the walther p99, i found that the finish rubs off pretty easy and was not too sure how it would hold up to the 40 cal,this weapon started off as the hs2000 in 9mm made in croatia and was a fine weapon in 9mm,,when springfield bought the comp they rechambered it for 40 cal but used the same frame,so i had concerns as to how it would stay togather..when i bought my first hs2000 i paid $219 for it,then right after springfield bought it,they were selling for $425,so for an extra $100 i decided on the walther and got rid of the xd40

    I really like the gun. It also has a lifetime warrenty. If it breaks thats fine by me. I just hope I have a couple thousand rounds through it first, [:)] I have shot 50 rounds thru. it today. I am really getting to like it the more I shoot it.

    I to have an XD40 V10 and it is a sweet shooter. And I too can vouch for the weak finish - I have edge wear after 4 months.

    As far as high caps go there aren't any as this weapon is post preban laws. However I believe Beretta Hi Caps can be modified to fit, although they will extend beyond the bottom of the grip

    It has never been ok to me for a defensive handgun to break, don't care what the warranty is!! That doesn't count the expense (shipping),time or general hassle of warranty work. Although not overly impressed with the HS200 (It was a good value though) when they came out, I have not heard of any major problems with it. My only problem is with the gouging that SA is doing without any improvement to the hadgun. Just my opinion.
