    A new one is over $500. The 6" ones aren't as easy to find used as the 4" ones. I'd say you did fine. They aren't selling as cheaply as they did years ago.

    Angelo: The $360 you paid is about right. New in the box they go for about $400.
    Your gun with ser# BEP85XX was built in Dec of 1989. As for as percentage of finish , 90% is pretty good. Usually that system is used for guns with a finish such as blued, and it refers to the percentage of finish remaining.
    Since the stainless models have no finish (they are bare stainless steel) it would most likely refer to holster wear on the barrel, scratches or turn mark on the cylinder.
    One nice thing about stainless is you can buff out blemishes. You can use chrome or mag polish, and do it by hand or use a wheel with jewelers ruge polish.
