KBI High Power 9MM
Saw this on the auction at a pretty reasonable starting price. Looking for an inexpensive 9MM. Does anyone have any experience with one of these?

I have several of them and seen many in training. So far NO complaints. They are made by FEG who also made the High Powers that carried the Mauser brand a few years back. One thing I notice is that the various guns will shoot well with cheapo high cap mags unlike some of the high brow type guns. I get high cap mags for $10 or so and the damn FEG loves em. I have some South African military mags and they work as well. All parts also interchage with a conventional Browning HP. I can't think of a bad thing to say about them. 0 -
Not a bad pistol for the price. I have had a couple of them and they worked very well- never a problem with most ammo I tried. On the down side I found the trigger rather heavy and it had quite a bit of creep, although it seemed to improve over time. The FEG's I owned had the old style military sights which I find awful. The small post type front sight and the fixed rear with a "U" shaped notch does not provide a very good sight picture for me and made it hard to align the sights quickly. Adjustment means tapping the rear sight either left or right.
The fit and finish on these FEG's was pretty good: They had a very nice deep blue and a good looking pair of wood stocks. I never noticed any sharp edges or tool marks- nice looking pistols and they handled very well. I'd suggest that if you purchase one of these FEG's you look into adding some more modern sights and perhaps a trigger job as well. Other than those two items I have nothing but praise for the pistol and suggest that you buy it if it fits you needs and budget.

I hate to be a party pooper, but I had one of the KBI PJK9mm once and it must have been one of those Monday morning guns. The darn thing jammed with every type of ammo I tried. I took it back to where I purchased it and since they didn't have anymore they said they would have there "gunsmith" work on it. Well, after taking it back 2 more times they finally sent it back to the factory but by then it was so screwed up that the factory wouldn't touch it. Ive seen other KBI 9mm shoot just fine but that one I had was junk.

Mark C.....On trigger creep...on this model pistol the trigger disconnect rides on a small spot on the front of the mag..what I did to mine was to polish the disconnector and about a 1/4 inch square on the front of the mag. It wont remove the creep but it will feel much smoother...not gritty...at least you will be able to feel sear engagment.
