Walther PP Disassembly help needed
HI - I have an Interarms model PPH which seems the same as my Walther PP - I need information on replacing the firing pin and on how the safety assy comes apart or just plain help, it will chamber and cock but pulling the trigger does nothing, the only way to get the hammer to fall is to put the safety on safe then to fire position or vice versa - I do have a Interarms and a Walther schematic but i'm not smart enough to understand how it comes apart to identify my problem, maybe I'm not looking at the right thing for the fix. Can some one help me, my gunsmith just died and I had to pick it up from the shop unrepaired and would like to get it back online. THANKS Darrell "The Sandman" Sanderson reply here or dlscas@earthlink.net I am in Portland, Oregon also I would be happy to give you a call if you send your phone number and a time to call - THANKS AGAIN

Taking out the safety and firing pin is easy enough, but I have no idea if that will solve whatever problem you are having with your Walther. Once the pistol has been field stripped simply turn the slide assembly over so that you are looking down into it. You'll need a small punch for this next operation. Set the safety lever between it two postiions. Take the tip on the punch and push the head of the firing pin in ahead of the safety and then use another punch to push the safety out to the left, you may need to tap lightly with a small hammer. When the safety is out of the slide, this action will release the firing pin and its spring- be careful as there is some spring pressure here. You can also remove the extractor, extractor plunger, and the extractor spring at this point if you wish.
