I've seen these same photos of the FN shotgun and I want to find out exactly what stock they are using. The CAR-15 retractable buttstocks are not one of my favorite designs as they are both uncomfortable and retract only about 3"- hardly even worth the effort. I'm looking at five LE restricted Colt rifles, all with retractable stocks, and the very notion that little lock pin is going to hold up under the recoil force of a couple of hundred 12ga 00 loads seems hard to believe without some sort of metal re enforcement in the stocks track (which is plastic). It will crack for sure and I doubt it will take too long since the difference in recoil force between the .223 and 12 gauge are tremendous and the stock was not designed for this heavy pounding. Even if it did hold up, I can only imagine just how uncomfortable that liitle CAR buttplate is going to be when used for a 12 gauge shotgun. For the slight reduction in over all length you'll gain, I don't see this set up as good as the old Remington factory top-folder, which were also none too popular in actual use.
