Shipping to the UK

I have a S&W manufactured in 1898. It's on GunBroker.com and the potential bidder wants to know if I can ship it to the UK. Well, can I?

I would think that the potential bidder should know what kind of red tape was involved. If you so inclined you could probably ship the gun, but he might not receive it or ever see it. Without the proper paper work, the gun could be confiscated and never delivered or returned. Also not sure about U.K. laws on antique handguns. I know handguns are illegal and there might not be any exclusion for antiques. There again the bidder should get involved and supply some information. Might be worth checking into, if nothing else you could find it educational.
