Romanian AK-47

Does anyone have an opinion (good or bad)about the quality, accuracy, value, etc. of the romanian ak-47? I am thinking of getting one because of the relatively low cost (

  Will AK-47 5 round magazines made in China work in this rifle?

  Yes, they should..99.9% sure....but there is allways an exception.

  They may have a tolerance issue as far as fit and feeding are concerned. Although Norinco is the only ones making five-rounders as far as I know, for general usage look for Soviet-bloc mags with the rib on the back. The SAR-1 is designed to use those specifically, but will use other AK mags as well

  The Norinco mags will work in the standard AK's. Some of the Romanian WASR 10's on the other hand seem to have problems with some of the mags in general. The WASR 10's started out as single stack receivers that get opened up here after they come into the country. Unfortunately they don't always get it quite right. I have seen actual Romanian 30rd mags have problems in the WASR's. The SAR 1's should take any of the standard 7.62x39 mags from any of the various countries. The WASR 10's on the other hand may need some extra attention.

  I heard that Chinese mags will not work in "Russian" guns. The historical reason was that the Russians & Chinese feared the other might invade at some point. So they made their magazines different to prevent the enemy being able to use the same mags.
  
  I'm not sure that this is true today since most new AK receivers are now made in the US.
  
  But keep this in mind before you buy more than one.
