Leupold scope for AR-15/ Mil Dot or Not?

The scope I am looking at is the VX3 4.5-14x50LR Tactical. Question: Duplex vs. Mil Dot? Never used mil dot. For the target shooting I will do is the Mil Dot a better choice?

  Great scope. Either reticle will be fine on a .223. In the long run, I believe the mildot will be more useful on other calibers; especially, if you plan on doing any LDT shooting. I prefer the mildot because I can see it better, more distinct for my old eyes.

  Followup to previous post. If all you will be shooting is .223 I would go with 3.5-10 before I would get the 4.5-14 Leupold. I have found that to be a more serviceable scope power range.
