By VS you mean Varmit Synthetic with the bull barrel and HS Precision stock? If so, they still make it, and you will be amazed at it's accuracy. The barrel is a contour 6, I beleive, and it is 26" long with an 11 degree target crown.

Or are you talkng about the carbon fiber barrel with the stainless liner?

    I'm a man,....but I can change,.....If I have to,......I guess.

According to Remington's site: http://www.remington.com/firearms/centerfire/700VS.HTM it is still available in .223, 22-250, .308.

I agree with JustC, the Remington 700 heavy barrel series is among the best out-of-the-box in accuracy of any factory rifles. For a varmit rifle, I personally prefer the VS SF, but it is a little higher (site: http://www.remington.com/firearms/centerfire/700vssf.htm).

It doesn't matter what you shoot, just shoot it well...
