HELP! Rem. 1100 20LT
Just bought a used 1100 remington 20 LT at a gun show, the receiver is drilled and tapped with a weaver base, the job looks very well done! The forward holes are not drilled in the barrel, a couple of my friends tell me that this base will eventually come off from use and that I should get a side mount installed before this happens. Please any thoughts on this! Are there any bases out there holding up with this application?? Thanks Guys!

I have seen a scope mounted like this that did fine as long as the screws were put in with loctite.
Oh, and that was on an 1100 12ga slug bbl gun.
