Mauser 22 cal ID??
Not too savvy on vintage Mauser rifles. Rec'd a .22 cal bolt action Mauser rifle from a veteran of WW2, but can't pinpoint weapon identity.
OAL: 43.25" Barrel length: 24.5" Markings on the receiver: "Mauser - Werke A.-G. Oberndorf a.N., crown over B, crown over U & Mauser logo across top of receiver". Above the matching number on the left side of the barrel is "PATRONE 22 LONG". Has heavy barrel & smooth action. Classical turned down bolt action with Mauser style safety. Front sight blade has 5mm dovetail & foresight ramp is checkered. Rear sight marked for 30 to 200 M. Safety, trigger hsng, & bolt handle all have the same stamped ID matching the last 3 digits of the brl/recvr 5 digit number. The bolt also shows "crown over B & crown over U". Release type lever protruding from the front of the trigger guard. Assume it releases a mag. No mag or clip available.
STOCK:
Dark walnut sporting style stock with pistol grip and no checkering. Exhibits a rough hand carved bedding surfaces for recvr (suppose typical of this vintage). Two sling swivels on the stock. Plastic molded butt plate with Mauser logo. No other markings on stock. Smooth forearm contour with no side recesses and no barrel bands are present.
After much research I have 'narrowed down' the identity to a few plus some. No single one of the below listed Mausers matches all the characteristics of the "unknown" rifle (eg all potential matches specify "22LR")
Certainly would appreciate any help offered.

I have a single shot that's marked like this.
Triple K has a magazine that fits many, but not all of the Mausers.

From the information in your post I believe the rifle is a "Ms 420" model. It's the closest match to the Mauser .22 long rifle caliber repeaters, that pre date 1939 (from the "B" "G" proofs) shown in my references. Even though it's marked "PATRONE 22 LONG" it's chambered for .22 LR cartridge. 0 -
In this case a picture would help alot. There are not too many different mauser models. I have one with no model number on it and I was told it was a 320 or 340. Mine is a little different than you described. I'm sure that with you detailed description, if someone has one, they will be able to tell you what it is. 0
