FFL question

What are the current fees associated with getting an FFL-01? Just toying with the idea. Thanks

  guy I work with has his ffl and was willing to receive a shotgun I am thinking of buying. He says $10 and tax, I know the $10 is a good deal but since when do they have to collect sales tax. the gun is comming from iowa to wva, is he correct?

  Yes it is perfactly legal to ship your own firearms to yourself across state lines and no FFL holder is needed.

  No, it is not. While it is perfectly legal for him to ship the rifle to himself, it is not legal for another, unlicensed, individual to do so.

  EOD is correct, you may ship your rifle to yourself, to & from hunting trips, etc. good to have bill of sale, or copy of 4473. some ups offices are goofie.

  EOD, ferg - Read what Mark said. With the exception of his yes, you are all saying the same thing. I think Mark over looked the fact that the other guy sent it.
