Pre WW2 model 70 Win

Hello all, I am looking for any info on serial #'s for the model 70 prior to WW2.... If anyone knows where the # starts and goes back, I would appreeciate it.

  The final serial # for 1944 was about 49,997 but some pre war style rifles can be found till about serial # 70,000.

  According to the information that I have, the ser. no's would be 1-31,675. Mfg. 1937-1941. All pre-war Model 70s have only 2 holes drilled in the front of the receiver (none in the back). The year of manufacture is also stamped on the bottom of the barrel near the breech along with the caliber. 270 42 would indicate that the rifle was a 270 caliber made in 1942.
