HB,
I have seen Belgium(they are more desirable) A-5's going for $500-$700 at shows! Sounds like the guys above want your gun cheap.

I hope that comment was made in fun. Otherwise I take deep exception to being accused of trying to get that gun on the cheap!
A-5's in 90+% condition are turning pretty high prices these days. In really fine shape a 12 ga. at $800.00 isn't unusual. At 80% and less the story isn't the same and $350.00 is a fair price. In fact, I turned down a similar Sweet 16 at that price... After all, a gun showing that much use is considered a shooter and nothing else.
So... I'd probably ask $450.00 for the gun and sell it to the first guy with cash over the $350.00 mark.
And for the record... I'm not interested in the gun.

Not a collector at 80%. Per s/n, it's a 1931 mfg. Suicide safety - lucky to get $350. (I don't want it either.)

Lets quit shadow boxing..what's the gauge? (Oh and what the heck is a "Suicide safety "?)

If it is good mechanically and not "shot out", just worn in the finish, I think you can get $400

"Suicide Safety" on A-5's was located in front of the trigger guard rather than to the rear as on later models. I find that it's having less and less effect on values as the years pass and is an absolute guarantee of a Belgian gun (not that they aren't well marked anyway).
And 12, 16, or 20... A worn A-5 in good mechanical condition will go for somewhere between $350 and $500.
