PARKERIZE AT HOME?

MY QUESTION IS,ARE THER ANY COMPANIES THAT SELL DO-IT YRSLF KITS? CAN THIS BE DONE AT HOME IN MY KITCHEN? I KNOW NOTHING OF THIS PROCESS,BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS DONE TO A PISTOL I HAVE.SHOULD I LEAVE IT UP TO A G-SMITH? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO!

  The easiest Parkerizing kit to use is a product sold by Brownells-
  Amer-Lene. Follow the instructions. Use common sense-not in the kitchen but an exterior BBQ will work just fine. The directions are
  simple and to the point thus I will avoid commenting upon safety and match grade barrels. Have used the product many times. Good luck. 101

  After you get the basics and feel comfortable, you can save a ton of money by buying Phospro or whatever brand name phosphoric acid (used to prime rusty metal for painting) your local hardware sells. Use a stainless steel tank and try a few sample pieces to determine the strength of your particular brand. Stay UPWIND and enjoy spectacular results. (The forgoing comments and recommendations fall under the standard crevats, i.e. "Hot coffee is HOT! Don't spill it on yourself)
