Old Browing FN Auto 5 ?

How do you tell if a Browing FN Auto 5 16ga S/N 895xx is chambered for 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" shells ? Thanks

Measure it? Use a stick or dowel that just fits the chamber and measure the distance it will go in the chamber. Better yet, take it to a gun shop or gunsmith. I wouldn't think there would be a charge.

Another thought- you could well have a 2 9/16 chamber. That was a popular length for 16 ga.
