Winchester 94 XTR

Is the winchester model 94 XTR the same as the standard model 94??
If there are differences what are they?

Although, the 94 standard suggested retail price was $363. Compared to only $285 on the 94 XTR. Another thing, the XTR was only offered in two calibers:30-30 and 7-30 waters.

ONLY .30-30 and 7-30 waters ... my Winchester Model 94 is an XTR, and it is in .356 calibre. I thought XTR was kind of a "fancy" designation.[?]

The XTR has checkered walnut stocks. Along with the 30-30 and 7-30 waters the early Big Bores (307,356 and 375) were XTRs.

The Blue Book shows the XTR as being worth less which I don't understand,as the XTR seems to be a much nicer rifle ?
I owned a XTR 7-30 Waters with a 24" barrel and it was a super rifle .I wish I still Had it.

Thank you for all your help, I now know that I got a good deal on this gun (195.00) here at gunbroker, and I just bought a Centenniel 66 Winchester because I figure it might be a collectable someday and I like the octagon barell!
