1902 Colt

I have an old colt automatic with 1894-1902 stamped on the barrel. Any thoughts on where to look for its history and value?

  No offense taken I'm pretty ignorant on this, thats why I am here. Thanks for the link it helped a lot. The gun appears to be the 1900 acp .38 model although it is not blued and the grips appear to be metal. I am looking into this for an elderly friend of mine, so I am just beginning my research. He has over 40 firearms of various types that I want to help him get rid of since they are getting up in years and don't want anyone breaking into the house to steal them. I read some mention of a blue book here, where could I get one of those so I don't have to pester you guys.

  Instead of the "Blue Book", these are the two I would highly recommend. The have almost total coverage from the 16th through the 20th centuries. Much better then the B B, as far as I'm concerned!

  Steven Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values can be ordered online from the publisher (don't know the website), from just about any gun dealer, or from online book sites like Amazon & several gun book dealers.
