What can you tell me about a Josh Griffith percussion shotgun,I purchased one at an auction. I would love to have some information.

  The only thing that I could find was a Joseph Griffth that worked in Louisville Kentucky in the late 1860's into the early 1870's.

  My Data Base shows a J.GRIFFITHS, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1839 to about 1865. Gunsmith and a Contractor to the Government in Dec. 6, 1842 to make and deliver 5,000 rifles at $13.00 each to be delivered at 1,000 per annum. The contract was taken over by E. Remington & Son due to Griffiths' inability to make deliveries..He was also Associated with Henry L. Siebert in 1852-1854..Making Rifles and Shotguns..
  GRIFFITHS & SIEBERT---- 729 Main Street, Cincinnati, Ohio..I believe This is who made your gun.......
