Can a winchester model 12 12 gauge 2 3/4" chamber be modified ( have chamber lenghtened) to shoot 3" shells
The reason i ask is i own a model 12 roit gun (watts commemorative edition[:D]) which is in like new condition. I would like to purchase a extra barrel/ mag, forearm which i see a lot of on ebay. I would like to have a spare duck gun realize the new set up will have to be fitted .What i really wanted was a 12 heavy duck
    thanks rp

After a quick check of my readily available resources it looks like a 32 inch barrel was the longest. It was only available on the Model 12 Heavy Duck Gun, 12 ga., 3 inch chamber, 30 or 32 inch barrel, solid rubber recoil pad, 1/2 inch shorter pull than regular Model 12. Mfg. 1935-1963.

Airborn is right on the barrel lenght. I have one from the fiftys and that thing is still a good duck gun.

Airborn I thought it was made or Mfg. in 1912 or was that the police model 12?
