44 Magnum Inquiry
I have a SS 629 Smith I bought a few years ago with 3" barrel and unfluted cylinder and I was told it came from Lew Horton's shop. Is the only way to tell for sure to pay Smith for a history search? All you have to do is call Ruger. Also I have a Ruger Redhawk with a 5 1/2" barrel and a high-gloss finish ( HGSS )Mfg. 1998. Is the high-gloss finish a low production model? I have not seen another.I guess I could call Ruger and maybe they would tell me more than the Mfg. date.

JEP,the Ruger Hi Gloss is on the rare side .I had a .357 Redhawk 7.5" and called Ruger. They said they made them but did not say how many.Until I read your post I had never seen any except mine.If I can find a picture I'll post it.
