"PEEP" SIGHT FOR MANNLICHER

Try Lyman. About 5 years ago I bought some receiver sights from them, though they weren't for a Mannlicher.

Receiver sights used to be quiet popular 60 years ago, but the advent of affordable scopes has about rendered metallic sights obsolete.

If you can't find one specifically designed to fit your Mannlicher, you may be forced to modify a sight made for another gun...and/or modify your receiver. A good gunsmith can do this for you...and the results will be worth the expense.

    My humble opinion,

pack rat633, I have owned Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles that were equipped with receiver sights. There were two made by Lyman. The Lyman 1A was attached to the bolt by means of a female dovetail cut into the rear of the bolt. The male dovetail on the sight fitted into the slot. The other rifle was equipped with a Lyman 36. It was attached to the left side of the receiver and the aperture was in a hinged horizontal bar that was pushed out of the way by the bolt handle as it moved back and forward. The M-S rifle presents difficulty in mounting a receiver sight because of the split bridge.
I have looked through the 1942 Shooter's Bible for a sight that would fit but Lyman was the only sight maker that listed sights for the M-S.
